About the Artist

The artist behind “Art of Two M’s” goes by “Marion Marina” (hence the two M’s) or just “Marina”, a self-taught sculptor born in the U.S.A.  Since 1995, her work has been displayed and sold throughout northern California then internationally (in 2014) via the internet.  The website gallery shows a collection of unique, whimsical pieces from the past and present so please feel free to browse at artoftwoms.com and don’t hesitate to email questions or comments to artoftwoms@yahoo.com.

From the Artist

"In 2014, after taking a break from selling OOAK pieces (dolls being among those items), face molds came to mind.  Sculpting a small face takes a lot of time and effort (and in many cases, a tremendous amount of patience…the familiar struggle), so providing other artists with a head start on their own projects (jewelry, ornaments, dolls, etc.) seemed a marketable idea."

“For as long as I can remember, it was my opinion that sculpting was the most challenging of the arts. One free afternoon in the mid ’90’s (while experimenting with porcelain earrings), my mother suggested I give it a try.  To date, no classes and no explanation (no known sculptors in my family) as I continue to use this God-given gift to the best of my ability.” ✝︎

While it’s true that a number of works (by me) include witches, wizards, vampires, ghouls and other creepy characters from the dark side, in life, I do not associate with nor do I put faith in anything relative to such beings.  My faith, lies elsewhere…

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Psalms 23:1-4, “1)The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  2)He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  3)He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.  4)Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
